Empower communities to be a catalyst for change & equal opportunity through sustainable programs that promote nutrition, wellness, education, & inclusion, in collaboration with residents, volunteers, civic leaders & business coalitions.
The main purpose of bKind is to work with community leaders, business establishments, corporations, & volunteers, to design & implement programs while providing vital resources empowering communities to create change from within. From its inception, the driving force of our organization has been to give individuals in underrepresented communities the tools needed to overcome obstacles, combat trauma, & break the cycle of poverty & discrimination. Consistent with our motto of “Never look down on someone, unless you are helping them up” is our vision of inclusion that transforms prejudice, discrimination, division, and deprivation into a culture of unity, diversity, tolerance, and achievement. We rely on the support of an expanding network of socially conscious, compassionate individuals, and partner corporations, eager to share their skills and areas of expertise through programs, classes, and collaborative community projects.
Documentation of bKind’s work in communities during COVID crisis is evidence of the ongoing effort and commitment to program development that inherently provides long term, sustainable change and optimal results.
Our organization has received several commendations for programs implemented over the past four years including a “Citation”, presented at an awards ceremony by the New York State Assembly for “exemplary service…to community”.
The “Citation" states:
“Through this work you have established a strong and lasting legacy as an Advocate for constituents that has greatly inspired the next generation” and concludes:
“You are…worthy of the esteem of both the community and the State of New York for your dedicated and tireless service to our city, the state, and our nation”
